The big day!

Ok so I forgot the camera for the wedding dinner the night before the wedding, so here is a picture I took of them with my Phone. We got to sit at the same table as the bride and groom!
And now the day we have all been waiting for...The day that Shaun got married! Whoo Hoo! It was such an eventful day! Shaun married the perfect girl so I have no doubt in my mind that the Lord had planned on putting Shaun and Brittney together all along!

So our weeds had gotten way out of control so I had to pick them. I had sprayed some of them, but some were beyond spraying and needed to be picked. I took pictures of the ones I absolutely had to pick because they were like trees! Here I am holding one of them.And here you can see how big it is compared to our front door.

I also decided to wash my car. So I thought I'd take before and after pictures to show how well I did plus you can see how different my car looks when it's clean. This is before...And after...See how it sparkles!

Mark left on his mission

Well, Mark left on his mission on May 19th 2010 to the MTC. He will be serving in the Riverside, California mission ASL (American Sign Language) speaking. He is the last of my 6 brothers to leave on his mission. Here are a few pictures of us waiting to say goodbye. If I remember right I had to wake up at like 3:00am. So I've got a TON to post! I will start out with the oldest thing. We celebrated Shawn and Mark's birthday around the middle of May. Here is a cute picture of Jaxon

My Mom, Candice, Jaxon, and I drove to Tucson last weekend for Brittney's bridal shower. We got to meet her Mom and sisters. We had a fun time and a nice road trip.

My parents let us use points from their time share or something like that. So the middle of January, Shawn and I took a full 7 day vacation to Sedona and stayed at the Sedona Summit. It only cost us $96 for the entire week! What a steal! We got a one bedroom condo which had a full kitchen, dining room, living room with a big flat screen TV, and the bedroom also had a big flat screen TV, and the bathroom had a ginormous bath tub and separate shower. We did our grocery shopping for the week in Cottonwood, then headed to Sedona to check in to our condo. We didn't have any plans except to relax and enjoy each others company. I think we picked the perfect week to go, because it was the week in January when it rained all week long in Phoenix, so in Sedona it snowed and rained all week long. It was gorgeous! This was the first full week vacation Shawn and I have ever taken together.

So I took a lot of pictures. I really loved the snow so that's what I took pictures of! This one is outside our front door. Some cars in the parking lot.

And after...and yes it was 1:30am. We pulled a lot of all nighters and then slept during the day. We had thick drapes in our room so it was nice and dark and we couldn't tell the day from the night unless we opened them. We hardly ever left our room except to get a blizard from DQ, a trip to McDonalds for a vanilla cone and in the video below a trip to a convenience store for some candy in the middle of the night. It was the only place open.

Hudson Khyl Halbert was born March 25th 2010 at 2:31am. He was 7lbs and 8oz 20 inches long. I can't wait to meet him! :) This is the only picture I've gotten of him so far. It was taken by a cell phone camera so it's kind of dark.

Brach's Conversation Hearts

What is Valentines Day without conversation hearts? I look forward to buying Brach's conversation hearts every Valentines. And yes it has to be BRACH'S! Well this year they have been impossible for me to find. I went to Walmart first, then CVS, then Fry's Food. The next day I called Walgreens and they didn't have then either. Well, I just have to have my Brach's Conversation Hearts! So there is only one more 'big' store in Maricopa that I hadn't chekced yet, and that was Bashas. So I went into Bashas and right when I walk in what do I see? Bags and bags of Brach's Converstaion Hearts large and small. I was so excited! I bought 3 bags of of the small hearts and one bag of the large. They were only $1.00 also! Now I hope Bashas continues to have them every year because they are my all time favorite Valentine candy.

Khyl and Danielle got in to town late last night or early this morning, however you want to look at it. They will be here for a couple weeks! Whoo Hoo! Well, Danielle's birthday was on Sunday so we had a little party for her tonight at my parents house. We had delicious homemade lasagna with garlic bread, and homemade lemonade. And for dessert we had ice cream cake. Yum yummy! Here is Dani opening her presents. My mom made this cute bag out of Caprisun drink container thingy's. So Christmas evening we were all talking about going to go see a movie. So my bro Shaun says he's going to go take a shower before we go. Candice says 'hey you guys we should pull a prank on Shaun while he's in the shower'. I thought it was a great idea! So I just could not motivate myself to get out all of our Christmas decorations out this year. I didn't even get our tree out this year. Instead our tree was a foot and a half little tree that I got one year at relief society. So these pictures are pretty much the extent of my decorating this Christmas. Next year I absolutely need to get out ALL of the decorations!

Every Christmas Eve my parents neighborhood lights luminaries. My parents get the fire pit out and sit out front while neighbors stop by and say hi and eat some food. My mom usually has treats or something out as well as hot cocoa. This year we had tamales, chili, sandwiches, cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, and all kinds of home made goodies. The picture below is the lid to the fire pit. The handles caught on fire, and you will see how in the video below. Let's just say we were nice and warm for a while. =)

I totally forgot the camera to Thanksgiving. So I didn't take pictures at either one of them, Thanksgiving with the in laws and Thanksgiving with my family. But I did remember to bring it to family home evening. Khyl and Danielle were in town, so I had to get some pictures. Well my parents started this Christmas tradition last year that we all LOVE! Since Khyl and Danielle will not be here for Christmas, we did it on Sunday after dinner and FHE. How the game is played is there is one present that we all take turns opening. The person trying to open it has oven gloves on to make it harder to get in. While the person to their left has a pair of dice and rolls until they get doubles. Once they get doubles the present gets passed to them along with the gloves and they pass the dice to the person to their left. So we all take turns opening this present until we get it open. The tricky thing is that my mom likes to use several wrapped boxes one inside the other. So the present is really in a small box. Khyl won last year so he started this year. And guess who won this year...

That's right, ME!!!! It ended up being a $20.00 bill! Sweet! =)

My Jewelry...

Okay, so I started making necklaces and bracelets several months ago and I have enjoyed it very much! I am thinking of making a small business out of it by selling the jewelry that I make. I was hoping to start selling soon so that you all can buy for Christmas. I just need to get started on making some new pieces. I will keep you all updated.

Here are just a couple pieces of jewelry I have made. I made the pink and brown one for my mom for mothers day and the pearl necklace for my mother in law for mothers day. I wish I'd taken pictures of all of the jewelry I've made but I didn't.

My Birthday/4th of july

Okay, so my birthday is in June but that's how far behind I am on updating our blog since we didn't have a computer that worked properly! But thanks to Scott and Andrea, we now have a computer and I can finally keep our blog updated. They gave us their old computer and it works great! Thanks so much Scott and and Andrea!!!

We started a new tradition on my side of the family last year or the year before. Every year for the 4th of July we drive up to Payson to see the fireworks. The weather is soooo much cooler. While we were there we went to a park and celebrated my birthday and ate food. This year we invited Candices family to come with us. So Candices mom, Kerri, came along with Candices sister Chelsea and her husband Greg and their two kids, Abby and Maggie. So I got a few new cute shirts!

Here is the newest addition to our family, Jaxon! My parents first grandbaby. Isn't he such a cutie? Jared and Candice did good! =)

Silly Sabian

Since we don't have any children, I've got to blog about our dog Sabian. This picture was taken some time in the summer. It was raining really really hard so we all (me, shawn, and sabian) went out front as a family to watch the rain. This is a picture of Sabian walking in the rain with her eyes slightly closed. Some people may call it luck, but I would say we have been blessed. So at work this week, we had a United Way meeting. At the end of the meeting they put everyones name in a drawing. Well I won a box of girlscout cookies. They were the Do-si-dos (peanut putter) cookies. I don't much care for peanut butter, so I let my department have half of them and took the other half home for Shawn. He LOVED them! If I would have known he liked them so much, I would have saved the whole box for him. =)

Anyway, on Friday last week, they had another drawing for anyone that donates some money to United may. For every dollar that you donate, you get a ticket that you write your name on and put it in a jar. That drawing was for 50% of all the cash that is collected. So I decided to donate $10.00. They took donations between 11:00am and 1:30pm. Well out of everyone who donated that day, my name was picked for the 50% of all the cash that was collected. So I ended up winning a total of $193.00. I was in total shock! I couln't believe it! My first thought was, we can go grocery shopping! But, then again, Shawn's breaks sound and feel like they are going out. So we might just have to use the money on his brakes. So I feel very blessed, to have won the money, because we could really really use it.

Family Reunion

On our last night at the reunion we went to this cool place called Goblin Valley. It was the neatest place. We got there around 8:00pm and it closed at 10:00pm. We played a game called flashlight tag. So all of us hid all over goblin valley and a couple people were supposed to go find us. If we got found we had to go to prison, which was in the middle of the place where there weren't any rocks. In order to get us out of prison, someone in hiding had to flash us with their flashlights. But there were people guarding the prison so it was hard to get away.

Mark had a quad accident. He split open his cheek and the hospital super glued it shut.

Here are some random pictures I just took of everyone. You can see the hotel that we stayed at in the back ground. Khyl brought Timber with him. It was so fun having her there with us. She is one energetic dog!

We had a very friendly baby deer come around our Hotel we were staying at. He always came around during meal time. In one of these videos Candice is petting the deer and in the other Timber is wanting to play with the deer.

Bryce Canyon

The boys are at Priesthood right now so I am at my parents house for the next couple hours. I am finally able to update our blog a little. Here is more of our Family Vacation in June.

Here are pictures from our hike at Bryce Canyon. This was a very very hard hike! There was no shade and it felt like it was all up hill! But I did make it through another hike once again (barely). This is the very beginning of the hike. We started on the top and worked our way down.

The next night we stayed at a campsite about a half hour from Zion National Park. And guess what??? They had showers and real toilets that you could flush!!!! I was so excited to take a shower because we had been hiking all day and we all stunk really bad! As much as I love camping I also love being clean!

So right behind the bathrooms at this campsite was a fenced area with horses. The darker horse was very friendly. He let us pet him and I fed him some grass. He would just eat it out of my hand. The light brown horse was very shy and would not come close enough for us to pet it or feed it.

Did you notice how I'm wearing a jacket in June!?! It was just a little chilly at night and early in the morning.

I guees someone had an itch! ha ha!

Hiking at Zion National Park

We went on a beautiful hike at Zion National Park.

We saw several reindeer on the trail.

This was a hard hike for me, but look, I made it to the end! I was so proud of myself! Of course the end wasn't really the end. We still had to turn around and go back. It was my favorite hike of our trip. It was nice and shady for the most part and it was pretty and we saw lots of deer.

The Grand Canyon

Since the only time I can update our blog is when I am at my parents, I don't exactly update very offten. But beleive me, I've got alot to update!

In June we went on a family vacation to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and then finally to our final destination, Cainveille, Utah. We had our family reunion in Cainville at a Hotel and met up with the whole fam there. Cainville is a very very small town in the middle of nowhere.

Dad, Mom, Shaun, Brandon, Mark, and me all drove up together. So our first night we camped out at a camp ground near the Grand Canyon. It was nice during the day, but I froze my booty off that night. It was so much fun camping! It brought back so many childhood memories. We went camping a lot when we were kids. Here is our our campsite.Look how close we are to the out house. It was the cleanest outhouse we have ever been in. It was clean and unscented. And it was nice and close to our campsite.

Here is where we had our campfire and ate food.

So the next morning we got up and went to the Grand Canyon and spent maybe an hour there. We just went on a small trail, about a quarter mile, and took pictures. Here is a picture of a butterfly on a flower that I saw on the trail.

We celebrated Shawn's and Mark's Birthday together, since they are just a week apart. Khyl and Danielle drove down from Reno to spend a few days with us, so we were all together this weekend. In Loving Memory Of Powell

From March 1994 - March 2009
This is one of my favorite pictures of him. He sometimes slept with his tongue sticking out. This week we had to do one of the toughest things we have ever done. We had to put Powell down. We found out about 6 weeks ago that he had cancer on his liver. The vet told us he only had a week to live maybe a month. But he was a tough dog and made it a month and a half before Shawn and I decided it was time for him to be free of any discomfort he may have, and release him to dog heaven where he will be made perfect and be able run and play once again. I've only known Powell 6 years, when Shawn and I started dating, but Shawn got him when he was just a few weeks old. I have so many great memories of him. He was the best dog ever! Very loyal companion, very loving and cuddly(like his dad, Shawn), always there when we needed him to comfort us. He's helped both of us through some tough times in our lives. He left behind his sister, Sabian, who he loved so much! We are grateful to still have Sabian in our lives, but Powell will be missed very much. We loved him so much!

Our First Valentines Day Together

Well since it's Valentines Day I thought I'd take a ride down memory lane and post a few pictures of our first Valentines cards to each other. Now, I don't think we had said 'I love you' to each other yet. But I think we did love each other at the time, and we said it shortly after. Now keep in mind that some of these pictures are actually pictures of pictures so they might not be great quality. This is the card that Shawn got me. It's actually a huge card. The dog in the picture is actual size.

This is the card that I made for him. It is also a big card that I made using poster board. Those are little candy hearts that I think I just taped on there so that he would be able to eat them. It's kind of hard to read, but if you click on the picture, you may be able to read it better.

I just want to say Happy Valentines Day Cu Bug! I am so lucky to be married to someone as wonderful as you! No one can make me laugh so hard. You are the only one that I can be goofy around that doesn't think I'm weird, and you join in and act goofy with me! I have so much fun with you! You are my best friend and I love you a whole bunches of a lot!

My first week...

Well, this was my first week to work back office in the titles department and I've got to say that I absolutely LOVE it! It is the greatest! I feel like I am learning everything fairly quickly. There is a lot to learn! I've already got the system that they use down, piece of cake, but like I said there is a lot to know and learn! I can't wait until I get the hang of everything!

Here are the pros and cons to my new job. First I'm going to name the cons, since there are so few of them. One con is that I have to drive on the I-10 everyday. It's not too bad, but I'm used to driving in no busy traffic at all. At the end of the day driving from the 143 to the I-10 is a pain also. Another con is that I don't get to eat lunch at my parents house everyday, like I did before. =( But I have been very good and brought a lunch to work everyday this week. And one more con is that I don't get to see all my friends from the branch everyday(but I do get emails from some of them everyday). So those are pretty much my only cons.

I've got a lot of pros! First of all I have my own desk. It's a big desk too, that is shaped like a lowercase 'n' so it's all around me and I have so much room. I share a laser printer with several people but it is right on my desk where I can reach it and I don't have to get up to get any papers that I print. I get to decorate my desk however I want to. So far I have brought in my mini fan, a radio, and a mousepad. I will get some pictures together this weekend that I can put all around me. I get to eat at my desk any time! I've been eating my lunch there, because the break room is just so lonely! I can take breaks anytime! I get to work at my own pace. I'm never bored, because there is always something to do, which makes the days just fly by! I have a set schedule Monday thru Friday 9-6. I love that! I can finally make plans in advance since I have the same schedule everyday! No more working on Saturdays!!!! There are no closing duties. So a few minutes before 6:00pm I just have to throw my shred away, and lock up any member sensitive info in my desk and leave right at 6:00pm. I work about a mile or two down the street from where Shawn works, so we can go to lunch together every now and then! Unfortunaly we can't carpool because his hours are 7-4. But that would be very nice! I get a badge with my name on it that alows me to park in the gated lower level employee parking. It also gets me on the elevator and in and out of a lot of doors. I feel so special. Everyone I work with is very nice! It's a very relaxing and stressfree job. I wish I would have done this years ago, but I was afraid of change. I think I got all of the pros. It's just a whole bunch of fun and I love it! It doesn't feel like work, because I enjoy what I'm doing and I can talk to people araound me, as I'm working, about anything and everything. (No more getting shushed for talking or laughing too loud on the teller line).

My last day at the branch

Well, yesterday was one of the sadest days and happiest days of my life! I have been a teller at Desert Schools FCU for 8 1/2 whole years and yesterday was my last day as a teller. That's pretty much the only happy part. The sad part is that I had worked at the same branch all 8 1/2 years and yesterday was my last day there. It was my second home and everyone I worked with was like family. I'm going to miss everyone soooooooo much. I had such a hard time leaving work yesterday. I only got a little choked up when I was saying my goodbyes and giving everyone hugs. But as soon as I got in my car to drive home, I lost it. I bawled the whole way home, and it's a 40 minute drive for me. Then I bawled again when I got home and read the poster that everyone signed for me. It's going to be hard for me not to see everyone everyday.

So yesterday morning, before work, a coworker, Jordan, took me to breakfast wherever I wanted. I had been craving Dunkin Donuts for a while because it had been years since I had eaten there. So that is where we went. I got my favorite, a bavarian cream doughnut and and everything bagel with cream cheese! Thanks Jordan! It was all very yummy!!!

For lunch my coworkers Debi and Cindy took me to lunch. They had planned on taking me to the Olive Garden all week. So we got there and there was a 20 minute wait. Well we only have a 60 minute lunch break, so we went next door to Mimi's Cafe'. They also had a wait, but said they could seat us right away if we ate outside. It was a gorgeous day outside, so of course we decided to stay there and eat. It was very good, but not as good as the Olive Garden would have been. Thanks Debi and Cindy for taking me out to lunch. You two are the greatest!

We had a superbowl potluck the Friday before the superbowl and I made sugar cookies shaped like footballs. Well Jordan seemed to really like them and told me to make some for my last day and put on them, "I heart Jordan." I told her I would.

So there is a tradition at out branch that a coworker, Vanessa, made up and we have all stuck to it throughout the years. The tradition is that on your last day you have to bring in cookies for everyone. So, of course, I brought cookies in yesterday. I made sugar cookies that were all heart shaped since I love everyone I worked with, plus it's the month of love. I made some really special cookies for Jordan, as promised. She's only been at our branch for a few months but I feel like I've known her forever. She's one of those people that everyone loves. So I made a couple bigger cookies that said 'I heart Jordan.' I really wish I would have taken a picture of them. Everyone really enjoyed my cookies, because there was only one and a half cookies left at the end of the day. So I know that recipe is a keeper.

Well on Monday, I will be starting a new adventure with Desert Schools FCU. I will be working at the main building in Phoenix in the consumer lending department as a title clerk. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while. I'm going to be working back office, so I won't have to deal with member face to face any more!!! Yeah!!! I will have my own desk, computer, and just my very own SPACE. I am excited for this opportunity, but I know it's going to be a huge change for me. I am very nervous for my first day. I am going from knowing everyone (even members) to not knowing anyone. And from knowing everything, to not knowing anything. I hope that everyone likes me and that I do well in this new position.

They all signed a poster for me, that I will cherish always. I didn't read it until I got home, because I knew I would bawl my eyes out, which I did.

This is an ice cream cake that they had custom made for me. It was so delicious! I actually brought home the leftovers, and Shawn is loving it! He can't stop eating it. They also all pitched in a got me a $50.00 Target Gift card. I worked with the best group of people ever and will miss them so much!

Hot air balloon

On my way to my parents house this morning, there was a hot air balloon hovering over Maricopa.

I took this when I was stopped at a traffic light and the balloon was right over the top of my car. I don't know why it was hovering so close to the ground. It looked like it was going to land in the middle of the intersection.

Hey everybody! I just wanted to let you all know that I plan on updating our blog as soon as possible. We took many many pictures and did lots of fun stuff this past month and we can't wait to share them with you all. Our computer slows down A LOT when there are too many programs on it. So right now we just use it for the Internet. We don't even have the printer set up to it or any microsoft programs on it.
